Every six months, the Eclipse team launches a new release, focused on enhancing and advancing the Eclipse product. These releases are strategically planned, incorporating customer feedback and ideas from the Ideas Portal. This latest release aims to elevate your business with exceptional customer and user experience. In 2024.1, we carefully considered and implemented your product suggestions to improve the quality of Eclipse. While upgrading to the newest release might not be your top priority, it is crucial to keep up with the latest enhancements that Eclipse offers. Here are five compelling reasons to upgrade to Eclipse Release 2024.1.

Job Management Enhancements

Job Management streamlines job processes for distributors, covering bidding, BOM management, submittal tracking, releases, change orders, billing, vendor invoices, and financial summaries for effective job oversight. An essential tool in your business. In this release, there were many investments made into Job Management. A few of these enhancements, were adding top and bottom buttons for those working in the Shipping Status page, reporting for stock usage allowing customers to easily track the amount of inventory that is being processed and to make informed decisions about future inventory purchases, and saving the default settings in Job Management Reports. In 2024.1, collectively, the Job Management enhancements improve customer experience, increase efficiency for the user and ensure inventory is always accurate, accounted for, and ready to use when needed.

Average Cost Calculation

Before 2024.1, the average cost calculation did not accurately account for mistakes and re-costing. Your business needs a way to calculate the new amount correctly, excluding the wrong amount, and fixing transactions that potentially went out with the incorrect cost. Recalculating the received cost of goods at the time of the change will ensure that the new grouping reflects the correct value. With this enhancement, your CFO can feel confident that the values on their statements are accurate. Average Cost Calculation Updates allows for accuracy in financial reporting to ensure long-term success and stability of the business.

B2B Supplier Integration Enhancement

The B2B Supplier Integration already allows for standard, included vendors, and the ability to connect your own. We are adding Omnicable - the first vendor to return cut lengths via API for inventory and pricing. With the addition of Omnicable, B2B Supplier Integration will continue to provide value and more opportunity to your business.

Limit Creation of New Customers in SOE

Some customers have all new customers start in the accounting department and don't want their employees to create customers at the front counter.   Today, customers with view only access can still enter a new customer via the widget.  This leads to bad data and manual work to fix each customer. Limiting the creation of new customers in SOE will not only improve data accuracy and security but also enhance customer experience. This simple yet effective enhancement can have a significant impact on the efficiency and productivity of your business.

Epicor Payment Exchange (EPX)

Epicor Payment Exchange is a full-service payment processor providing complete authorization, settlement, and reporting. Epicor Payment Solutions make it easy to accept card payments – for businesses of all sizes. In Eclipse, the Epicor Payment Application should not need to be run as an Administrator. Many customers don’t want the front counter user to be an administrator of the machine. This was an oversight in development, in 2024.1 it has been corrected.

Take advantage of all these enhancements and more in 2024.1. Please see our various release resources below and contact your Account Manager with any questions. We look forward to hearing about how these new enhancements took your business to the next level.
